Originally the gamekeeper's cottage for the Earl of Pembroke. Over the last 25 years, the present owners have developed 17 individually designed and decorated bedrooms and an award winning garden, home to 11 resident ducks as well as Snoop and Chester, the family pets. Cricket Field House is situated a 25 minute walk from Salisbury City Centre and Salisbury Cathedral, which has the highest Spire in England, and boasts the best preserved of the four surviving copies of the Magna Carta, as well as the earliest working modern clock, dating from c1386AD. Visitors can take the Tower Tour, attend services or just browse the magnificent Cathedral Close, home of Salisbury Museum and the home of the late Sir Edward Heath (often known as Ted Heath), Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1970-1974. Tours can be arranged for Stonehenge, Avebury and Old Sarum, the home of the original Cathedral. Salisbury train station is only a 15 minute walk away, and is on main, direct lines to London Waterloo, Cardiff, Southampton (and Southampton International Airport) and the naval port of Portsmouth, which plays host to the historic ships; HMS Victory, HMS Warrior and the Mary Rose (plus museum). Southampton and Bournemouth International Airports are both within a 40 minute drive. Breakfast is served Mon-Fri 7am-9am, check-out 10am; Sat-Sun 8.30am-9.30am, check-out 10.30am. We offer full English breakfast, and a buffet of fresh fruits, yoghurts and cereal. We can cater for special dietary requirements with prior notice. All produce used is sourced locally. We also offer a hot snack menu Mon-Fri 6pm-9pm and are licensed to sell alcohol with this. Directions

A303 - Road: On passing Stonehenge, leave the A303 at the next major roundabout. Take the first left, signposted Wilton to the A36. Travel for approximately 7 miles. At the crossroads, take a right, signposted Wilton and continue to the bottom of the road to the small roundabout. Take the first exit on the left, signposted Salisbury and travel for 34 mile. You will see the Welcome to Salisbury sign on your left. 50 yards further on, on the right-hand side, is the entrance to Cricket Field House.Salisbury City Centre (Market square) - Road: On leaving the market square carprark, turn right (one way system) to the traffic lights and take the first left. At the next junction, turn left and bear right ready to turn right at the T-junction. Continue and pass under the railway bridge to the roundabout, staying in the left hand lane on approach. Follow signs for A36 Warminster and Bristol. A mile after the two major roundabouts, Cricket Field House will be on the left-hand side of the road, immediately after crossing the bridge.A36 (approach from Southampton) - Road: As you enter Salisbury from Southampton direction, pass Tesco on your right and take the first exit on the small roundabout. Follow this road until you reach the ringroad (and first major roundabout). Continue on the ringroad following signs for A36,Warminter and Bristol. Leave the ringroad (still following these signs) on the fourth roundabout, taking the second exit. 34 mile from this roundabout, over the bridge, the entrance to Cricket Field will be on your left-hand side.Salisbury station - Train: (On foot) Out of the main entrance, turn immediately to your right, through the carpark and out of the exit and turn right, into Churchfields Road. Continue for approximately 34 mile (do not leave this road) until the road narrows and the church of St Andrew's is on your right hand side. Turn right, round the church to the top of Church lane, turn left and you will see Cricket Field House on your left.Southampton and Bournemouth airports - Air: On approaching Salisbury and the ringroad, follow signs for A36 Wilton and Warminster. Cricket Field House can be found on the left-hand side as you are about to leave the city boundary.
