The Pembroke Arms is on the Wilton Estate which can trace its origins back to King Egbert in the year 838 where he built his Royal Palace. Mentioned in the Doomsday book, Wilton was the seat of the Bishop of Wiltshire until 1045. Wilton House was built on the site of the prosperous Wilton Abbey by Sir William Herbert with the following Earls adding to it to make it the building it is today. The Pembroke Arms has nine wonderfully designed bedrooms Egyptian cotton sheets, full down' duvets and pillows, scrumptious bathroom products from Pharmacopia, power showers, a complimentary range of teas, proper coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits, mineral water, Godminster' flavoured vodka miniatures, flat screen free view televisions, Sony personal docking stations with radio, complimentary Wi-Fi and big fluffy towels. The design follows the Hillbrooke way positively quirky, a touch of the (shabby) chic and incredibly comfortable. We offer local, fresh, simple and seasonal food. Not complicated at all, but very tasty. Lots of choice, great service and fun atmosphere. Small but perfectly formed wine list with a nice range of bin end' and speciality' wines. And some really good ales of course.
